When I first arrived at Etosha, I must admit to being a little disappointed. It is located on a salt flat and there is one part that seems to have no life on it, or in it, at all. The rest of the part has a stark beauty that I began to appreciate the more time I spent there.

We saw quite a few zebras there and I could see how effective their camouflage is (not that that helped my photography!). The environment is very dusty, as you can see and it would seem to be a difficult place to find food. Having said that, we came across many pregnant zebras, so clearly there is a sustainable food source in the apparently arid area.
