Title: Spyhopping
Photographer: Graham Elliott
Location: Sydney, Australia
The activity you can see is called spy-hopping. This is where the whale hangs vertically in the ocean with its head out of the water. Usually, they surface enough for their eye to be clear of the water. It’s their way of checking you out and it’s a real thrill to be on a boat when a whale comes up close and takes a look at you.
In this shot, you can see the barnacles which have attached themselves under his whales’ chin.
Consider mounting it with ‘Good Morning’.
Please refer to the “Sizing Guide” page for more information.
