Seeing my first mountain gorillas, face-to-face, was a moving experience. They are very powerful but happy to leave you alone if you do the same. We were briefed not to make eye contact (perceived as a threat by some animals) and I was hoping that this gorilla didn’t see my camera lens in the same way.
My gorilla pictures (in this collection) were taken in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. This park is in the southwestern corner of Uganda, at the borders with Rwanda to the south and the DCR to the west.
