Caption: This lion was resting and watching what was going on around him. I found lions surprisingly hard to spot, even though the country was relatively open. This part of South Africa has a lot of termite mounds and the lions colouring is almost the same.
Lions will often rest in bushes, usually on the edges but sometimes in the denser part. We saw them hunting at night, so this male was, presumably, just chilling.
