Nile crocodiles can be found throughout Botswana and they often lie next to fresh water when they are resting. Crocodiles can grow up to 5.5m (18 feet) but this is excessive. A study in the Kruger National Park in South Africa found the average adult to be 3.65m (12 feet) long.
This crocodile was much smaller, less than 2m long and was resting on a fallen tree. We even came across very small, baby crocodiles. They were in the river and stayed very close to the edge where there were plenty of places for them to hide.
