Location: Chobe River, Botswana
This photograph and “Morning Hippo II” are of the same animal and were taken during an early morning trip on the Chobe River. I was alone on the boat with a guide and the ‘driver’ and we had stopped at the edge of an open area where we could see several hippos.
What I loved about this sequence of photographs is the reflection of the grass in the background and how it turns the image green. There had been a lot of rain in the weeks before my arrival and everything was lush.
