Caption: This group of elephants are making their way along a dried river bed in Namibia. The bigger males have larger heads and are physically larger than the females.
You can also see the wrinkles in the underside of one elephant's front foot. Fresh elephant footprints have clearly defined ridges but, as the wind slowly blows sand away, the footprints become less distinct. This is one way of gauging how fresh elephant tracks are.
